Krystal Beach, a 4 star hotel, is situated on the waterfront of the paradisiacal Harbour Island peninsula, nestled along the Western Cape shores of Gordon’s Bay. Position is a priority and the hotel is at the epicentre of the Cape Town Metropolitan area (30 kms), Cape Town Airport (25kms), Cape Winelands region (Stellenbosch 28kms) and the Overberg region (Hermanus 65Kms).

Leisure travellers, businessmen and conference delegates can now experience both the dynamics of a vibrant urbanite lifestyle, whilst being able to retreat to a veritable island of solitude and splendour.

The Krystal Hotel is a short distance from South Africa’s world renowned Wine, Whale and Garden Routes. The moment you leave the hotel you will begin to experience some of South Africa’s most incredible scenery and wildlife: from the Cheetah Outreach facility in Somerset West (where you can experience the excitement of a personal encounter with hand raised ambassador cheetahs), to whale watching in Hermanus. On the way visit the Penguin Colony at Stony Point in Betty’s Bay and / or the Harold Porter Botanical Gardens.

Gordon’s Bay was named after Colonel Robert Jacob Gordon, a Dutch military officer who commanded the Cape garrison in the latter part of the 18th Century. Although Robert J Gordon’s involvement with the village that would later take his name is negligible, he was responsible for the exploration of the False Bay coastline between present Gordon’s Bay and Betty’s Bay.

Today this picturesque cove, with its steep mountain drop and white sandy beaches is home to the South African Naval College and other sea activities. Gordon’s Bay combines the flavour of an international resort with the charm of an old style coastal town, resulting in the perfect holiday getaway today!
